The optional Throne of Hinnon dungeon sits beyond the normal quest route in XL Games’ worldwide Steam Next Fest demo for the upcoming MMO ArcheAge Chronicles. The higher-level challenge is designed to be difficult, and finding its key is part of the test; the demo also opens PvP earlier than the usual progression would.
According to MMORPG.com, all four classes are playable across six open-world servers. The demo offers roughly two to three hours of quest content as players explore Auroria, with party quest-sharing and smoother channel joining intended to make group play easier.
What the demo includes
- Exploration and quests: Auroria provides the setting for the demo’s short story and quest run.
- Throne of Hinnon: This optional, higher-level dungeon is separate from the regular quest progression, with a deliberately hard-to-find key.
- Party features: Players can share quests, join the same channel more easily and explore together with fewer interruptions.
- PvP: Access comes much earlier than in the normal game progression, becoming available after players leave the first town.
- Playable classes: All four are available. The demo also includes updated voiceovers, facial animations, audio polish and clearer navigation at some points of interest and dungeons.
The changes build on feedback from the September network test. Players weighing class options can also find context in the game’s Ranger specializations.
Demo window and class options
The demo is available worldwide on Steam through October 26 at 10 a.m. PT. XL Games has also begun developing options to remove class gender locks, with changes planned to arrive gradually, starting with select classes.
Those options are not part of this demo, and the studio says it will share more details later. For now, the available build provides a limited window to test its group systems, dungeon challenge and early PvP access.
