The Three Little Pigs mechanic drives house-building, Wolf activations and tiered Free Spins in DEGEN’s latest high-volatility release.
Fairy-tale-themed slots have become an increasingly crowded corner of the cluster pays segment, with studios competing to give familiar IP fresh mechanical purpose. DEGEN Studios released Howl N’ Huff on 3 September 2026, a high-volatility cluster pays slot built around a progressive house-upgrade system and Wolf-triggered destruction sequence.
House-building mechanic and Wolf activation
Howl N’ Huff is played on a Cluster Pays grid in which Straw, Wood and Brick Houses are constructed on the reels through winning clusters. Repeated wins on highlighted positions upgrade houses through the tiers — and the higher the tier, the larger the prize concealed beneath. When a Wolf symbol appears after all winning cascades have resolved, the Howl N’ Huff sequence begins, blowing down every house in order: Straw first, then Wood, then Brick. Each house that falls can reveal a multiplier prize or one of three modifiers.
The Extra modifier adds new houses to the grid; Reset rebuilds active houses with new values and restarts the Howl N’ Huff sequence; and Multi applies a multiplier of up to 10x to the total feature prize.
Free Spins tiers: Wolf Watch, Wolf at the Door and Golden Fortress
The game offers three escalating Free Spins features. Wolf Watch and Wolf at the Door increase intensity through standard and enhanced house-persistence rules respectively. The top tier, Golden Fortress, is triggered by five Scatter symbols or can be accessed directly via Mystery Buy. It introduces the Gold House tier, described as elusive in the base game, which keeps houses persistent throughout the bonus and guarantees a Howl N’ Huff activation on every spin. Gold Houses can reveal the game’s largest multipliers, reaching up to 150x, alongside the most powerful modifiers, contributing to a stated 10,000x maximum win — the same ceiling carried by other titles in DEGEN Studios’ catalogue, including Plague City.
Buy Bonus and Activate purchase options allow players to access bonus states directly without waiting for them to trigger organically.
Danny Gordon, Head of Studio at DEGEN Studios, said:
‘Howl N’ Huff takes a story everyone recognises and wrecks it in the best way. Players are building houses, upgrading them, stacking value beneath them and waiting for the Wolf to come in and do what he does best. What makes the game fun is that the destruction has a purpose. Every house that falls can reveal something that keeps the sequence moving.’
Howl N’ Huff had been anticipated by operator partners ahead of launch: the title was referenced as an upcoming release when DEGEN Studios went live with Superbet in Brazil in July 2026, alongside the studio’s existing catalogue. The studio distributes its titles through Yggdrasil’s YGG Masters programme and Hub88, which provide licensing infrastructure, certification and operator distribution across regulated markets.
