The leaked slate had Venom arriving in 2025, followed by Wolverine in 2026, Spider-Man 3 in 2028, a new Ratchet & Clank in 2029, and an X-Men game in 2030, with unannounced new IP roughly planned for the early and mid-2030s.The game's full title, per the leaked material, was going to be Venom: Lethal Protector, borrowing from the 1993 comic run that gave the character his best-known nickname.

The project slides described it as continuing directly from Spider-Man 2 (which, as those who have already played it know, prominently featured Venom) and leading into Spider-Man 3.The leaked internal documentation even revealed a planned budget of $120 million, far smaller than the $300 million spent on Spider-Man 2, suggesting a shorter experience more akin to Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Indeed, the leak also included information on the game's scope: a roughly 8-to-10-hour campaign centered on 12 main missions, with optional content such as bases, crimes, and collectibles. Following the late 2023 leak, the next big rumor came last year from MP1st, which confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine was on track to launch in 2026 and also that Marvel's Venom was still in development, with sources indicating Eddie Brock would be the symbiote's host rather than Harry Osborn, and that this Venom would look considerably closer to his comic incarnation.A few months ago, fans got a bit of a scare when Miles Morales actor Nadji Jeter suggested that the project had been canceled following the premature death of Tony Todd (who had voiced the character in Marvel's Spider-Man 2), but Bloomberg's Jason Schreier quickly disputed that claim, reassuring gamers that the standalone Venom game was still being made.Nate the Hate's latest confirmation is yet another hint that we will eventually get to play this game.
