Crunchyroll Adds Roguelite Restaurant Management Game Cuisineer to Its Android

Cuisineer is a weird mix of activities. It’s a dungeon crawler and a restaurant simulator packed in an anime-style RPG. Cuisineer launched on PC in 2023, and is now on mobile as part of Crunchyroll Games Vault.

There’s also crafting and exploration. And of course, a ridiculous amount of food. The game takes place in Paell. The protagonist is a cat-girl named Pom who returns home after getting a startling letter from her parents.

Her parents are gone, their beloved restaurant has been abandoned, the business is buried in debt, and the village is in desperate need of some proper cooking. So, Pom goes from being an independent adventurer to an accidental restaurateur.

She heads into dangerous dungeons to hunt down the rare ingredients she needs. During the day, Pom is dealing with hungry customers and keeping her restaurant running. At night, she can head into procedurally generated areas full of enemies, treasure, spices, meats, vegetables, and other useful ingredients.

The dungeons include places like the Green Ruins, Frozen Fjord, and Konpeito Swamps. Their size, shape, and available resources can change every time you visit. There are also four distinct biomes, each with its own ecosystem and boss fights.

In Crunchyroll: Cuisineer, Pom gets culinary weapons and gourmet gear. There’s the Spatula, the Smackerel, the Swordfish, and the Konpeito Fist, among others. Meanwhile, enemies include giant chickens, artillery shrimps, fire-breathing peppers, monsters, rivals, and other food-themed threats.

You can also mess around with different flavour powers, including Salty, Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Umami, Frosty, and Toasty. These can add effects like flame, poison, chain lightning, knockback, and other elemental attacks.

Cuisineer has more than 100 recipes inspired by cuisines from around the world. You can make crunchy Popiah rolls, Kaya jam, double-fried crispy chicken with zesty lemon, Ramen, Kaya Toast, and sweet treats loaded with berries.
