Marvel’s Wolverine Actor ‘Proud as Hell’ of Game Despite Criticism

The lead actor in Marvel’s Wolverine has taken to social media to state he is “proud as hell” of the title, amid criticism from early reviews and players.

Marvel’s Wolverine launches worldwide today as Insomniac Games‘ latest Marvel outing, but the reviews have left the title as the developer’s worst-rated title on Metacritic in a decade.

Despite that, Liam McIntyre, who provides the voice and likeness for Logan in the game, took to social media to express his pride of the project.

McIntyre ‘Proud as Hell’ of Marvel’s Wolverine

Posting on Twitter, McIntyre referenced his early career role as Spartacus, and stated he had “read things you couldn’t believe,” making it clear any criticism doesn’t faze him.

“Man, my career started with the responsibility of taking over for the incredible Andy Whitfield in Spartacus (RIP to that legend). I’ve read things you couldn’t believe.

“I just hope everyone has fun. I’m proud as hell of this game. It’s a blast.”

On Metacritic, Marvel’s Wolverine has a ‘generally favorable’ score from critics at 77, but there’s a huge disparity, with some scores as high as 10/10, while others are at half of that.

In comparison, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sits at 90, the original Spider-Man title sits at 87, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales sits at 85, leaving Wolverine chasing the pack.

Fans will start having their say today as more and more players get their hands on the game, but it’s clear that McIntyre is thrilled to be a part of the journey and won’t be letting any criticisms affect him.
