Palia announces a Nintendo Switch 2 release and ‘cozy’ multiplayer dungeon

Considering Palia’s whole vibe where the most combative thing that players have ever done is fire a bow and arrow to hunt creatures, you’d be forgiven for thinking that multiplayer dungeons are against the grain. Well, it might be time to shift that presumption because multiplayer dungeons are headed to the beta in the form of Echo Expeditions.

While hard details aren’t immediately clear, both the dev blog and an associated video both stress that Echo Expeditions are the game’s idea of a “cozy dungeon crawlin’ experience” that’s both approachable but with lots of progression depth to master that apparently has been in the works for some time. The feature is also purely optional and won’t take the place of the game’s usual activities.

The opening of Echo Expeditions will run alongside the multiplayer RPG’s arrival to the Nintendo Switch 2 console, which will effectively be a free upgrade for those who bought the game on the Switch, with all of the niceties that one might expect including enhanced visuals, better performance, and some new ways to control the game with the Joy-Con 2 controllers in mouse mode. Both this release and the dungeon delving feature are arriving sometime this holiday, with more information to come soon.
